Schema markup

Schema markup is structured data (from Schema.org) added to a page's code to tell engines exactly what the content is — an article, an FAQ, a product, a person.

Search and AI systems use it to understand and confidently extract information.

Why it matters: It's widely treated as table stakes for AI visibility; FAQ and Article schema in particular are associated with higher citation rates, though schema alone isn't a silver bullet.
