GPTBot

GPTBot is OpenAI's web crawler that gathers data to train its models — not the bot that fetches live search citations.

You can allow or block it in robots.txt. Blocking it removes your content from future training data but does not stop ChatGPT's live web search from citing you.

Why it matters: Knowing the difference between training and search crawlers prevents accidentally making yourself invisible — or thinking you've opted out when you haven't.
